Meghan Markle Used Pinterest to Plan Her Wedding, According to Her Close Friend Daniel Martin
Meghan Markle's good friend (and sometime makeup artist) Daniel Martin has revealed the Duchess's secret wedding planning strategy—and it's hardly an uncommon one. Just like many, many brides before her, Meghan turned to Pinterest to find some inspiration for her big day.
Martin spilled the beans during his recent appearance on the beauty podcast Gloss Angeles, explaining that when he and Meghan were planning her wedding day look, Pinterest links were key.
"I didn’t have a makeup trial with her because we couldn’t make the time," Martin said, per Us Weekly. "I knew what she liked and didn’t like. We exchanged a Pinterest pictures over text. But I think for anybody, Pinterest is an incredible tool to use as a reference. For a bride, that’s their red carpet moment. And I feel like you can’t stray too far from who you want to be and who you are because the last thing you want to do is look at these pictures and think, 'I was not comfortable looking like that.' You still have to have a sense of who you are."
Martin added that overall, the experience was fairly low-key. "It was like a friend asking me to do her wedding," he said.
And when the day did come, all that Pinterest planning came in handy: according to Martin, the Duchess's makeup application couldn't have gone more smoothly. "[Meghan’s] the most chill person," he said. "That morning was just easy. Nothing phased us."
