Meghan Markle's is reportedly planning a short maternity leave

Meghan Markle is due to give birth to Baby Sussex any day now! Some even speculated that the baby was already born after the duchess skipped the royal family's Easter service and her mother, Doria Ragland, reportedly came into town. But Duchess Meghan has been on maternity leave since about mid-March and new reports say that once Baby Sussex is here, she'll plan to take just three more months off.

According to a royal source who spoke with The Sun, “Meghan has made it very clear she wants to return to work as soon as possible. She has huge amounts of energy, is extremely determined and wants to be as hands-on as possible with her charities."

The source added that nothing official has been set, as the duchess wants to wait and see how she feels post-giving birth, but that she's planning just a few months of leave.

“She’s pencilled in three months, but she’ll most likely return to public life in six weeks — on the Queen’s official birthday, Trooping the Colour, in June," the source said.

Three months is the standard amount of time for maternity leave in the US, but in the UK, women are accustomed to taking six to 12 months of leave. Although, Kate Middleton took off six weeks after giving birth to Prince George, four months off after Princess Charlotte and six months off after Prince Louis. So really, to each their own.

It's also been reported that Prince Harry is planning to take two weeks of paternity leave. A friend his allegedly told The Daily Express that, "he doesn't need to take paternity leave because he doesn't work in the way most people do, but he thinks it's a very modern dad thing to do."

The queen's birthday parade will take place on June 8th, just three days after President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have their official state visit with the palace. Of course, people have been curious as to whether or not Duchess Meghan, an American citizen who campaigned against him in 2016, will meet with the president while he's in the UK. But royal correspondent for The Daily Mail Rebecca English speculates that the duchess won't partake in any festivities with Trump seeing as she'll still be on maternity leave.

So, only time will tell. If there's anything we know about the Duchess of Sussex, it's that she does things in her own way (like having a private, potentially at-home birth and hiring an American nanny).
