Meghan McCain Blasts Trump Over John McCain Dig: No One Will Love You Like They Loved My Father
Meghan McCain fired back at Donald Trump Saturday after the president delivered yet another verbal attack on her father, the late Sen. John McCain.
“No one will ever love you the way they loved my father,” “The View” co-host said in a tweet replying to the POTUS. “I wish I had been given more Saturday’s with him. Maybe spend yours with your family instead of on twitter obsessing over mine?”
The sharp words came after Trump disparaged McCain in yet another tweet on Saturday, blasting the Vietnam veteran over his “no” vote to repeal Obamacare and his part in bringing the Steele Dossier to public attention.

“Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier ‘is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain.'” Trump wrote, quoting former Clinton special prosecutor Ken Starr. Trump continued on Sen. McCain: “He had far worse ‘stains’ than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!”
The president has long nursed a grudge against McCain. The Arizona Republican was a sharp critic of Trump’s during the 2016 presidential campaign and frequently frustrated his legislative plans during his last months in the Senate. One of McCain’s final Senate votes was also one of his most significant — preventing the chamber from sending a repeal of Obamacare to the president’s desk.
Trump has never shied about going after McCain, famously telling pollster Frank Luntz in 2015 that the Senator was only considered a war hero “because he was captured,” adding that he liked “people who weren’t captured.” The attacks from Trump continued even after McCain was diagnosed with the malignant brain tumor and his subsequent death.

The president was notably left off the guest list at McCain’s funeral.
