Conflict Over The Impeachment
The political conflicts on The View continue, this time over the impeachment process. Since Abby Huntsman has left the show, Meghan McCain is the only conservative voice on the show, and she has a very different read on the impeachment trial than her more liberal co-hosts.
"As usual, I feel like I live on a different planet than everyone that works on this show. When I saw Adam Schiff, I actually thought that he seemed very performative. And that he’s clearly trying to take over for Diane Feinstein at some point. I wouldn’t be surprised if he runs for her seat."
McCain explained that she felt like she was on a "different planet" than her co-hosts and that the trial isn't "isn’t making a big impact" on her.
"There’s a huge disconnect in the way liberals view this and the way conservatives view this."
Meghan McCain Is A Trouble Maker
McCain frequently clashes on the show with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, most recently when discussing Lindsey Graham and his involvement in the impeachment process. McCain angrily asked "Do you want to hear a conservative perspective on this show ever?"
Goldberg protested "Girl, please stop talking! Please stop talking right now!" McCain was clearly annoyed and quipped "No problem. I won’t talk the rest of the show."
Goldberg was clearly over it and replied "Well, I’m ok with that. I’m ok with that, if you’re gonna behave like this." McCain tried to talk over it and shouted "I’m not behaving like…!"
Goldberg shut her down. "You are. You are talking over…What you’re doing… We’re not doing anything."
McCain later tweeted: "Good morning - to all the fellow conservative 'girls' who won’t be quiet" alongside a gif of Game of Thrones's Daenerys Targaryen.
Twitter Is So Over Her Schtick
People are over McCain's divisive antics, tweeting their frustration and desire for her to be replaced.
"Meghan McCain’s behavior on The Viewtoday & everyday is distracting, disheartening,anger inducing and disgusting! I don’t know if it’s her age or her upbringing but she is not suited for any talk show.She is not even particularly smart! Why is she there? #TheView"
"Meghan McCain IS the expert on not earning things and only getting anywhere in life because of her dad, so it checks out"
"Hey, did you guys know that Meghan McCain's dad is the former senator John McCain? I had no idea because she never mentions it every day."

Is It All For Show?
Now, there is a certain amount of clashing that is played up for television. Goldberg and McCain gave a joint interview with Vulture in December and assured people that there was not bad blood amongst the cast. Goldberg explained:
"This is real time. Stuff happens on our show in real time and everybody, wherever you sit with this, don’t assume that we’re over here with butcher knives under the table."
McCain agreed.
"I’ve loved you for a long time. You were good friends with my dad. We fight like we’re family. It’s all good."
