Meijer shoppers warned: Credit, debit cards may have been charged twice

Meijer has more than 240 supercenters in six states.

Meijer is warning customers that shopped over the weekend that their debit and credit cards might have been charged twice, according to WDIV-TV (Channel 4.

Meijer's spokesman Frank Guglielmi said that over the weekend some metro Detroit stores experienced issues with debit and credit card purchases. That resulted in some cards being charged more than once.

Guglielmi also says that banks should in most cases cancel out the duplicate charge.

On their own, shoppers should check out their bank accounts and contact their bank if there is an additional charge.
