Pairing the Mejuri Charlotte Bold Hoops with my favourite dainty gold pieces.
Pairing the Mejuri Charlotte Bold Hoops with my favourite dainty gold pieces.

While it may already be spring in my heart, the reality of March in Toronto still requires some warm layers. The compromise? A buttery yellow sweater set and layering on the gold jewelry.

I paired my Charlotte Bold hoops with a few of my everyday jewelry favourites: a lightweight bar necklace, a sparkling letter K, and Mejuri's Single Mini Lotus Stud, which has earned a permanent place in my cartilage piercing.

I've worn them on a few occasions, either alone or with a few other pieces, and have found that the Charlotte hoops never fail to catch your eye. Since the rest of my jewelry tends to lean more dainty and delicate, the hoops really get their chance to shine thanks to their bold, oversized look. They're ideal for a just about any occasion, but be warned if you're just getting back into statement jewelry as I am: these hoops are heavier than they look!

My poorly-lit selfie? 6/10. These Mejuri hoops? 10/10.

Real talk: I am a huge Mejuri stan. My first introduction to the brand was a few years ago via a (now discontinued) gold vermeil bangle (shop similar here), and since then, I have collected a handful of pieces, my favourite being the Pavé Diamond Slim Signet, my Black Friday gift to myself.

There are two reasons why I come back to Mejuri time and time again. The first: they're a Canadian brand. I like to support local businesses when I can, so it's a bonus for me that they're a Toronto-based company.

The second reason I trust Mejuri is its incredible customer service. The aforementioned gold vermeil bangle, for instance, unfortunately arrived discoloured, but after a quick and easy conversation with customer service, a brand new bracelet was waiting for me in the mail within a few days.

The brand is full of everyday favourites, the Charlotte Bold Hoops being no exception. Unlike Kate, I don't find them heavy at all (I am an earring stacker, though, so take what I say with a grain of salt), and I think they couple well with other accessories in my collection.

The only thing I will say about Mejuri is that if you can afford the 14k gold version of the product, I would opt for that rather than the more affordable gold vermeil. I say this as someone who's experienced mild tarnishing before, so if you can swing it, the 14k versions are worth the investment.

One of the things that attracted me to Mejuri is the simplicity of its pieces. I love the idea that there are pieces you can mix and match to suit your mood — or wear on their own and still look polished and put together.

I opted to wear my Charlotte Bold hoops with a grey V-neck sweater for a minimalist jewellery look that includes my gold wedding band and a gold and coral ring (not pictured — had to hold up the camera!). I think jewellery can be intimidating for some people, when in reality, hoops like the Charlotte Bold add enough personality and style that it doesn't take much to punch up your everyday look.

My collection of Mejuri pieces include several different sizes of hoops but I think the size and detail of the Charlotte Bold makes them a set that you'll reach for time and time again when you want to add interest to your look without adding flash. It's a classic style to suit your personal style — which for me is timeless and minimalist chic.
