Melania Trump is getting into the holiday spirit!

The first lady kicked off her week with a visit to the Marine Toys for Tots in Washington, D.C., on Monday, where she spent time with children and volunteers sorting donated gifts for children in need.

“I see much of the spirit of America in the Marines Toys for Tots program,” Trump said, referring to the White House's Christmas theme this year.

“Whether it’s a Christmas gift to a child in London, donating school supplies to children in Africa, assembling comfort kits for troops deployed overseas, or showing kindness to a stranger, your actions can forever change the lives of someone in need," she continued.

Dressed in a Gucci red striped skirt ($1980, but now sold out) and bright red boots, the 49-year-old met with military families and handed out "Be Best" gear to the volunteers.

Following the event, the first lady took to Twitter to share photos of her day at the military base.

"For nearly seven decades @ToysForTots_USA and the @USMC have been dedicated to ensuring that all children have a toy under the #Christmas tree. Today I was joined by military families to support this effort and spread holiday cheer within our community!" she wrote.

The Toys for Tots program has been run by the U.S. Marine Corps. since 1991. It was Melania's third year in a row participating in the holiday event.
