From Town & Country

Given how quickly some people cycle through the Trump administration, it's hardly surprising that few original campaign staffers still remain. But today, a rare veteran made the news. Stephanie Grisham, who has been with Trump since his candidacy, was named White House Press Secretary. She marks Trump's third press secretary in less than three years.

The First Lady shared the news on Twitter this afternoon, just a few weeks after Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that she would be leaving the post.

"I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 - @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country," she wrote on social media. "Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse."

Melania then signed off with "#BeBest," a nod to her campaign centered around issues facing children, including cyberbullying and drug use.

Grisham has yet to publicly comment on the announcement.

Most recently, Grisham has been operating as the First Lady's communications director, but before that, she served as deputy to Trump's first press secretary Sean Spicer. During Trump's presidential campaign, she was a press aide, and following the election, a member of his transition team. At this point, it's unclear who will replace Grisham in the First Lady's office.

Prior to her time working with the Trumps, Grisham was involved in politics, working on Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign and serving as a spokesperson for the Arizona attorney general's office. She also previously ran a public relations firm.
