A Melbourne man was charged with two counts of first-degree murder Friday in connection with the deaths of his aunt and uncle in their Eau Gallie home, police said.

James Green, 31, faces additional charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in Pooler, Georgia, where he was arrested Tuesday morning after going to a church and asking questions that "raised concern for the church's safety," according to a statement by Melbourne police.

When Pooler police questioned Green, he acted erratically and attempted unsuccessfully to flee.

Police discovered that the car Green was driving was registered to Alford Baker, 63, Green's uncle who shared a home on Tanglewood Lane in Eau Gallie with his sister, Teresa Baker, 61, as well as Green, their nephew, Melbourne police said. Pooler police asked Melbourne police to do a welfare check on the siblings.
