EVANSVILLE – Kevin McDonald, a member of the legendary sketch comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall, will come to Evansville for a series of shows this winter.

McDonald is slated to appear at Arcademie's "World's Smallest Comedy stage" on Feb. 16-17, the bar announced on its Facebook page Monday morning. Ticket sales start next week at the bar.

"Crank up Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet's 'Having an Average Weekend,' because we're beyond thrilled to present absolute legend Kevin McDonald," the post reads in part.

"Average Weekend" was the theme music for The Kids in the Hall's TV series, which ran for five season in the late 1980s and early '90s. The troupe consisted of McDonald, Dave Foley, Scott Thompson, Bruce McCulloch and future "Saturday Night Live" alum Mark McKinney.

The show featured McDonald and the others playing both male and female characters, the sketches swinging wildly from silly to dark and back again. Produced by SNL's Lorne Michaels, it spawned the 1996 film "Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy," as well as a fervent cult following that ultimately led to a revival of the series on Amazon Prime last year.

McDonald has worked steadily his entire career, appearing in everything from "Seinfeld" to "Arrested Development" to an Outkast video. He had a six-episode run as Pastor Dave on "That 70's Show," and has done numerous voice roles, most notably in Disney's "Lilo & Stitch."

McDonald is the latest get for Arcademie's "World's Smallest Comedy Stage," which sits upstairs at the popular arcade bar Downtown. So far, it's pulled in comedians such as Dave Hill and Sara Schaefer.
