Members of Public Join Lifeguards to Save Beached Whales in Georgia

The efforts of lifeguards and beachgoers in St Simons, Georgia, helped save dozens of beached pilot whales on July 16.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources also responded to the scene. They said around 50 whales beached.

Dixie V McCoy recorded this video showing the efforts at East Beach to get the whales back out to sea. She wrote alongside her Facebook post that she was proud of everyone who helped out.
