Memorial created to remember life of cab driver killed in Lynchburg shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Hill City community is honoring the life of a cab driver who was shot and killed while on the job on Feb. 9.

A memorial has been set up for Carroll Mack outside the Allied Cab building in Lynchburg.

Mack’s taxi is parked outside and is covered with balloons and a sign that says, “RIH [Rest In Heaven] Long Live Carroll Mack.” Another sign on the back of the car says, “RIH Cab #3”

Search warrant uncovers new details into deadly Lynchburg shooting of cab driver

Flowers were also played on the car and alongside the building.

Search warrants obtained by WFXR revealed that Mack was shot shortly after picking up a man on Friday night. He was rushed to the hospital and later died.

The Lynchburg Police Department arrested the suspect and charged him with murder.
