Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit coming to Port Huron

The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit will be at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, 1720 Elk. St. in Port Huron Memorial Day.

“The goal of the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit is to bring community together and teach patriotism while remembering the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes," Karen Worcester, Wreaths Across America executive director said in a statement. “Over the last two years we feel this exhibit has taken on even more meaning by providing the opportunity for people to safely participate in something that is both educational and inspiring, while supporting and giving back to the communities it visits.”

The exhibit serves as a mobile museum, educating visitors about the service and sacrifice of the nation’s heroes as well as to serve as an official ‘welcome home’ station for Vietnam Veterans.

The public tours for the exhibit are free with social distancing, sanitation and safety procedures in place to protect the health of all visitors .

Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit best known for placing wreaths on veteran’s headstones at Arlington National Cemetery.

Allied Veterans Cemetery in Port Huron has been decorated annually in December by the organization and local volunteers from the Allied Veterans Council and Sea Scouts. You can sponsor a local veteran’s wreath for $15 by visiting https://bit.ly/3wpOPqL.
