- --in New York City now honors Puerto Rico victims of Hurricane Maria. The structure a new addition to the landscape in Battery Park City. It encompasses a variety of shapes and bold colors, credit going to architect Segundo Cardona and artist Antonio Martorell. They beat out 120 other entries in a contest that was the brainchild of Governor Cuomo. Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017.
