Memorial service scheduled for one of six victims of Edwardsville tornado

A memorial service for a St. Louis man who died after a tornado struck an Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The service for DeAndre Morrow, 28, at the New Life in Christ Church in O’Fallon will be live-streamed at www.nlicic.org/live.

Morrow and five others were killed when the tornado struck on Friday, Dec. 10.

The other victims are: Austin J. McEwen, 26, of Edwardsville; Clayton Lynn Cope, 29, of Alton; Etheria S. Hebb, 34, of St. Louis; Larry E. Virden, 46, of Collinsville and Kevin D. Dickey, 62, of Carlyle.

Attorneys Benjamin Crump and Bob Hilliard are representing the Morrow family. They said in a statement earlier this month that they are meeting with other victims’ families and plan to investigate.

Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, are also reviewing whether Amazon had a “proper emergency action plan,” an agency spokesperson told the BND last week.
