A memorial service will be held Saturday for a Flagler Beach woman whose body was found last month in a marshy area near her home. The service will also be in memory of her husband who had died about a month earlier.

Martha L. Company’s body was found July 19 under thick underbrush in a marshy area off South 27th Street, police stated. The 62-year-old woman had been reported missing the day before. Police and deputies with the help of a K-9, a drone and helicopters had searched for her.

Her husband, Alan Company, died on June 16, according to an online obituary. The couple had been married for 34 years, since April 15, 1989, according to the obituary.

Alan Company died of cancer, according to Flagler Beach Police Chief Matt Doughney.

The police chief said that the medical examiner had not yet released Martha Company’s cause of death, pending toxicology results.

Doughney said Martha Company’s death does not appear to be criminal in nature.

Martha Company had worked as a paraprofessional at Old Kings Elementary School in Palm Coast.

People are invited to gather to share memories about Martha and Alan Company at 2 p.m. at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South., near Palm Coast. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m.
