A new Vietnamese spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Memorial, called Viet Urban Kitchen, is located at 14741 Memorial Drive.

Formerly known as Pho & Crab, the owner Madam Ky passed the restaurant over to husband and wife, Toan P. and Jolie P. Despite the name change, Viet Urban Kitchen still serves Vietnamese food that is based on traditional recipes that were shared during the Vietnamese migration, according to its website.

The assorted menu features vermicelli, garlic noodles, fried rice, curry, vegetarian options and more. Look for dishes like the pad thai crab, shrimp and scallop, garlic noodles with chicken flambé and curry tofu and vegetable. Finish the meal with a dessert such as Bananas Foster, which is made of a flambéed banana that’s in butter and cinnamon, served with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy a meal on the patio or in the dining area.

With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Viet Urban Kitchen seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Mark M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 29, wrote, “Our waiter appeared with complimentary fried wonton puffs that were delicious. Started with the grilled pork spring rolls, which were fresh — they had a nice balance of pork to crisp veggies. For entrees, we went with the grilled beef and vermicelli and the lemongrass Mongolian beef. Both dishes were tasty.”

And Mason C. wrote, “I got the specialty of vermicelli noodles and the pork and shrimp spring rolls, and my wife got the vegan vegetable crispy noodles and Thai tea. The food was great and the service was even better.”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Viet Urban Kitchen is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
