If you’re looking to make your Christmas season merry and bright, take a drive to look at some of the most spectacular light displays people have put up in their yards.
This Rhode Island Christmas Lights Map will point you in the direction of some of the best displays in the state with thousands of sparkling lights, dozens of blow molds, inflatables and more. There are displays where kids can mail their letters to Santa. Ones that are looking to spread the Christmas spirit by raising money for charities. One even has a smell component.
Below you’ll find all the details. Please note that many of the displays are weather-dependent, so check the provided links to Facebook pages if the weather is looking iffy.

What to know: With about 8000 computerized LED lights, this show is sure to bring smiles. It features both traditional and non-traditional music, and the whole show runs about 40 minutes long. An elf told us more music will be coming closer to Christmas time.
Birchwood Lights: 64 Birchwood Dr., Portsmouth

What to know: With light-up snowmen, Santas and a few festive trees, this spirited display will leave you feeling warm. The show runs for 40 minutes.
Conway Christmas Lights Extravaganza: 265 Maple Valley Road, Coventry

What to know: Truly an extravaganza, you’ll know you’re heading toward the right spot when you start to see the glow through the trees. With a canopy of lights, blow molds everywhere, and walking paths so you can get out of your car to truly take it in, it’s worth the trip out to Coventry.
Merry and bright: Light up your holidays with these 10 events across RI and nearby
Corsilette: 467 Seven Mile Road, Hope RI

What to know: Right down the street from a Christmas tree farm, this display, put together by Derek Corsi, has a wow factor when you drive up to it after coming down the dark road. The name is a nod to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette’s annual display.
Daniel’s Holiday House of Warwick: 69 Darrow Dr., Warwick

What to know: The house is better known for its elaborate Halloween displays, but its holiday lights are also definitely worth a visit.

What to know: For 15 years, the Frisina family has been making the holidays bright. With 20,000 lights, this display dazzles. There is also a donation bin to support the Providence Ronald McDonald House.
Giroux Family Christmas Display: 69 Outlook Ave., East Providence

What to know: For the past 17 years, this show has brightened their East Providence neighborhood. The display includes turning a 20-foot tall flag pole into a Christmas tree of lights. Make a note for next year, they do a great Halloween display too.

The Griswolds of Hope Valley: 11 Willow Dr., Hope Valley

What to know: A family that loves Christmas, they go big on their holiday decorations. To spread the Christmas magic, there are a few things to know about this display. One, if you go on Saturdays, there’s popcorn. Two, you can send your letter to Santa here, and if you drop it off with a self-addressed envelope he will respond. And three, because giving is the spirit of Christmas they partner with The Milagros Project, so people can donate hygiene projects, winter clothing, non-perishable food, and money to help Rhode Islanders in need.

What to know: With over 14,000 LED Pixel lights this show is the creation of Matt Mello, who moved to Rhode Island in 2020. Ever since he moved to the Ocean State, he’s been creating incredible Halloween and Christmas displays for the community to enjoy.

What to know: Set to music, this high-tech display is the stuff of Christmas memories.

What to know: One of the most spectacular displays in Rhode Island, this light show grew from Benny's blow molds to a display that takes over the whole lawn with a playlist of 35 songs. While the display is lit, the Lewis family collects money, via a cash donation box, PayPal and Venmo at @LewisChristmas, for the Autism Project, and is earmarked to send kids to Camp Wannagoagain.

The MacDonalds’ Christmas Display: 54 Ellery Road, Newport, RI

What to know: A tradition, the MacDonalds Christmas display continues to dazzle from its perch overlooking Easton's pond. With lights, trees, Santas, elves and numerous other attractions, this spectacle has been bringing joy to everyone since the 1970s.
Picozzi Family Christmas Display: 75 Gristmill Rd., Warwick

What to know: Put together by the Warwick mayor, this is one of the sweetest displays out there. Kids can send their letters to Santa at the mailbox in this display. Include a self-addressed envelope (no stamp needed) and every child gets a response. The display also collects money for the Tomorrow Fund of Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Donations are voluntary and can be made either through the cash box or via Venmo.

What to know: Downright jolly, this light display has 25 inflatables, homemade holiday arches, pole trees, over 13,000 light bulbs and Santa's tractor on the front lawn. You can't be in a bad mood looking at it.

Santa’s Magical Drive-Thru Christmas Display and Musical Light Show: 106 Ten Rod Road, Exeter

What to know: One of very few that are open during daylight hours, this drive-thru display has over 300 inflatables and a track list of 40 songs. Santa’s Village Winter Wonderland: 6 Hilton Ave., Riverside

What to know: To wish their neighbors a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season, the Boucher family puts on their annual light display, filled with handmade items like Santa’s reindeer. Rumor has it the big man himself, along with Mrs. Claus, will be making appearances at this display this year.
Sullivan Family Christmas Lights: 11 Laudone Dr., Bradford

What to know: With 50,000 lights, you could even say it glows. This big display filled with colorful lights will get people in the holiday spirit.

What to know: This show uses pixels instead of the classic strings of lights, which gives this display an almost concert-like effect. Multiple screens project videos to go with the performance. Also, it’s not just Christmas music you’ll find if you stop by this display.

What to know: This light display was designed by a teenager who loves the show “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” Since it started in 2018, it’s grown considerably into a colorful, festive display.
