Memphis announces 6-member 2022 M Club Hall of Fame class

Six former Tiger greats will be inducted into the University of Memphis M Club Hall of Fame in February.

The 2022 class includes former men's basketball standout Omar Sneed (1997-99), two-time all-Conference USA baseball honoree Drew Martinez (2009-11), four-year football letterwinner Wade Smith (1999-2002), former softball star Lelani Bernardino (2009-13), two-time all-conference selection in women's soccer Shelley Heinz (1995-97) and former women's track and field star Susan King (2005-08).

The M Club will also present four special awards. John Wilfong will receive the Billy J. Murphy Award, while Jackson and Betty Moore will be presented the Dr. Cecil C. Humphreys Golden Tiger Award. Joyce Wiuff will receive the Murray Armstrong Award, while Clayton “Roger” Sapp will be presented the Ralph Hatley Silver M Award.

MEMPHIS FOOTBALL: DeAngelo Williams, Memphis' all-time leading rusher, elected to College Football Hall of Fame

The induction ceremony is set for Feb. 25 at the Penny Hardaway Hall of Fame. The inductees will also be recognized during halftime of the Tigers' home men's basketball game against Cincinnati on Feb. 26.
