Memphis could see its first snow of the winter season. See the weather forecast, how much to expect.

Look out for snow this week, Midsouth!

According to the National Weather Service's forecast, Memphis could see a 30%-50% chance of snow showers on Friday between 5 and 8 a.m. Even though this will be only a dusting, it could still be the first official snow of the season.

During this period of potential snow, the temperatures will reach into the low 30s with the wind chill reaching as low as 23 degrees. Rain showers could turn to snow beginning Thursday night and continuing through through 8 a.m. Friday before turning back to rain lasting until the evening. The NWS predicts about 0.01 inches of rain between 5 a.m. and noon. There will be medium cloud coverage in the morning and high in the evening with the pickup in rain intensity.

"Skies are cloudy in northeast Arkansas and the Missouri boot-heel, with mostly clear skies in the Mid-South." says the NWS forecast discussion. "A weak surface trough will move into the region, causing dry weather with chilly temperatures in the 40s. Several rain or snow showers are possible, mainly over West Tennessee. Temperatures will remain below normal with highs in the 40s. Over the weekend, an upper-level ridge will build, causing dry weather with moderate temperatures."

Here's the weather for the next few days.
