Memphis football didn't sign a quarterback on Wednesday when it announced 22 signees. The Tigers added one Thursday in Harris Boyd.

Boyd, who hails from Rowlett, Texas, announced his commitment on Twitter. The 6-foot-3 senior is a pro-style quarterback and currently unranked by either 247Sports or Rivals. He had offers from Arkansas State, Indiana and Houston Christian.

Memphis will lose two quarterbacks once the season ends after backup Ryan Glover exhausts his eligibility. Freshman JC French entered the transfer portal earlier this month.

Coach Ryan Silverfield said this week the Tigers could either add a quarterback through the transfer portal or signing a prep quarterback before the end of the early signing period Friday or Feb1, which is national signing day.

Adding Boyd takes care of one those needs. Memphis could still look in the portal for an experienced quarterback since behind Seth Henigan, the Tigers have freshman Tevin Carter and junior walk-on Hunter Hulsey, neither of whom have seen game action.
