Memphis Grizzlies legend Zach Randolph to be inducted into Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame

Zach Randolph was greeted with usual warm cheers sitting courtside at the Memphis Grizzlies-Golden State Warriors game Saturday. But the cheers inside FedExForum led to an ovation once Randolph learned some news.

Grizzlies public address announcer Marcus Tucker told the crowd that Randolph will be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame on July 22. Randolph joins the 2023 class that includes Super Bowl champion Tim Harris, golfer Loren Roberts and former Nashville Predators captain Mike Fisher.

Randolph averaged 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds in his eight seasons with the Grizzlies as a key part of the "Grit and Grind" era. The two-time NBA All-Star helped the Grizzlies make the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons from 2011-17, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2013.

In 2021, Randolph became the first player in franchise history to have his jersey retired.

The Tennessee Hall of Fame ceremony will be held in Nashville with ticket information announced at a later date.
