Memphis Grizzlies score, Ja Morant stats vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Live updates
The FedExForum has been a bigger homecourt advantage for the Memphis Grizzlies than any previous season. The Grizzlies have racked up a franchise record 34 home wins, and they'll go for 35 on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Blazers (33-45) struggled in March and fell out of the playoff race. As a result, the team won't have most of its veteran players that led Portland to a win against the Grizzlies earlier this season. Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Jusuf Nurkic are the Blazers' four leading scorers, and all are out on Tuesday.
Steven Adams remains out for the Grizzlies (49-29), but there's expected to be an update on his status this week. Dillon Brooks is questionable to play due to right hip soreness.
Memphis lost its last game on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls after leading by as many as 23 points. It was the Grizzlies' largest blown lead of the season.
With just four games left before the playoffs, playing an undermanned Portland team should be the type of game that pushes Memphis in the right direction, but it's not a given. The Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in one of the biggest surprises of the season. The Blazers were -19.5-point underdogs, so the win was the largest upset since 1993, according to ESPN.
Most of Portland's players are young prospects hoping to prove that they deserve a shot for next season. The two most notable names may be Shaedon Sharpe and Matisse Thybulle. Sharpe is averaging 17.8 points per game as a starter, and he has scored more than 20 points in six of his last seven games. Thybulle, who was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers, is a two-time All-Defensive team selection.
The Grizzlies are -17.5-point favorites against Portland.
