Memphis Grizzlies score updates vs. Utah Jazz: Is Ja Morant in the lineup?

The Memphis Grizzlies had a five-point lead with under three minutes left on Saturday against the Utah Jazz before losing 124-123. Now they'll get their chance at revenge.

Utah (5-2) and Memphis will meet again at Vivint Arena for the final time this regular season.

Memphis (4-2) allowed a season-high 19 3-pointers on Saturday. Utah used its floor spacing with Kelly Olynyk and Lauri Markkanen to force the Grizzlies' big men to guard in space. Now Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins has a chance to counter Utah, and he could have more players available.

Ja Morant and Jake LaRavia missed Saturday's game due to non-COVID illneses. Both players are questionable for Monday's game. They were listed as doubtful going into Saturday.

Morant could be one of those counters for the Grizzlies. His speed and leaping ability could force the Jazz to turn to Jarred Vanderbilt and go away from their Markkanen and Olynyk frontcourt. Vanderbilt was one of the biggest reasons why the Minnesota Timberwolves held Morant below his regular season averages in the first round of the 2022 playoffs series. Vanderbilt is a better defender than Markkanen and Olynyk, but he's not as much of a shooting threat.
