Memphis Grizzlies lose Game 3 against Los Angeles Lakers after awful first quarter

LOS ANGELES— The Memphis Grizzlies took Game 2 in the best-of-seven matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, and now the series shifts to Crypto.com Arena.

The Grizzlies put together their second consecutive season of more than 50 wins, but one of the most notable difference was playing on the road. Memphis was one of the best in the NBA on the road last season, but this year's team finished 16-25 away from FedExForum.

Memphis went 0-2 in two games at Crypto.com Arena against the Lakers. The ideal scenario would be leaving Los Angeles with a win in at least one of the next two games, but it will take something Memphis hasn't done this season.

4:46 left: The Grizzlies bench is struggling, too. Anthony Davis grabs an offensive rebound and flushes it home with a two-hand dunk. Lakers 24, Grizzlies 7. Memphis HAS to stop the Lakers driving the ball. Too easy for LA right now.

5:30 left: Lakers were up as much as 20-4, but Santi Aldama gets the Grizzlies' first made 3-pointer. 5 turnovers to 2 made field goals for Memphis.

9:12 left: Much better from Ja Morant on a drive to the basket. Lakers up 8-2.

10:05 left: Morant drive with his right hand results in a turnover. Didn't have full control as he entered the paint.

11:22 left: Let's do this. Lakers win the tip, and LeBron drives on Dillon Brooks for a basket.

Pregame: Ja Morant in the lineup for Game 3

Ja Morant is back in the lineup after missing Game 2 with a hand injury, the Grizzlies announced before Saturday's Game 3 tipoff in Los Angeles.

We'll see how capable Morant can be with the ball, but it'll at least make the Lakers think about Morant's driving ability and passing.

About 30 minutes from tipoff at the Crypto.com Arena. It was easier to spell Staples.
