Memphis Grizzlies score vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: live updates

A lot has changed since May.

The last time the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves played, Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks were dancing on the Target Center floor as the Grizzlies headed to the second round of the playoffs. Many people thought these two franchises could be battling for years to come.

That still could be the case, but the Timberwolves swung for the fences this offseason when they acquired Rudy Gobert. So far, the trade is looking closer to a strikeout than a home run.

Minnesota (5-7) has one of the worst-rated NBA starting lineups after trading Patrick Beverley and Jared Vanderbilt. Anthony Edwards has complained about the spacing that Minnesota's large lineup has afforded him.

The Grizzlies (8-4) have won four of their past five games behind standout performances from Ja Morant, Desmond Bane and Steven Adams.

Even though Minnesota is struggling, it still has one of the most talented starting lineups in the NBA. Any time Morant and Edwards share a basketball floor, something special could happen.

The Timberwolves have a 51-50 advantage in the all-time series. Memphis and Minnesota have split the past four regular-season meetings.
