Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South has announced three staff additions: Kimberly Hooper-Taylor, previously director of Education for Stax Museum, has joined as a JA Inspire coordinator; Ayanna Clark has joined as Community Engagement coordinator; Megan Ryan is Special Events and Development coordinator. Scott Hendricks, managing partner of New York Life of Memphis, joined Junior Achievement's board of directors.

Tess Shelton has joined the Memphis law firm of Godwin, Morris, Laurenzi & Bloomfield as an Associate Attorney. She is a 2022 graduate of the University of Memphis law school where she was inducted into the National Order of the Barristers for Moot Court participation. Shelton will focus her practice on union-side labor law.

The Lewis Thomason law firm’s shareholders have elected Kevin Baskette, a shareholder in the firm’s Memphis office, to the Board of Directors. He is a Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator and trial lawyer who practices in Mississippi and Tennessee in healthcare liability, construction defect litigation and transportation law along with professional malpractice, products liability defense and personal injury litigation. Baskette is an IADC Trial Academy Graduate.

Ring Container Technologies has received a gold medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis, the leading platform for environmental, social and ethical performance ratings for global supply chains. The rating puts Ring among the top 5% of all companies assessed. The objective of the EcoVadis methodology is to measure the quality of a company’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions and results. The assessment focuses on 21 sustainability criteria grouped into the themes of Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. Ranking in the 98th percentile, Ring was one point shy of achieving a platinum rating.

Epic Pivot, a leading values-driven consulting firm focused on human-centered innovation, announced founder and managing partner Michael Graber has earned his Authorized Training & Assessment Provider (ATAP) certification from the Global Innovation Institute (GInI). To earn designation as an ATAP, providers must meet or exceed the high standards of quality and effectiveness established by GInI. With this certification, Graber will deliver training and assessment services reflecting the latest in innovation thought leadership.

River City Capital Investment Corp. has a new senior relationship officer with the hiring of Wahpillar White. With the departure of lending executive Babacar Thiaw, the company sought to expand the role with new leadership talent that promotes continued growth for the company and for minority-owned businesses across Memphis and the Mid-South. Prior to joining River City Capital, White was most recently at Smith+Nephew as a Pricing Business analyst.

Baker Donelson law firm was named to Bloomberg Law's Second Annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Framework. It's the second consecutive year the firm has been named to Bloomberg Law's annual Framework. Baker Donelson is one of 43 U.S.-based law firms recognized for its level of disclosure of diversity-related metrics and performance in six core pillars: demographics, leadership and talent pipeline, recruitment and retention, business innovation and strategy, marketing, and diversity and inclusion in the community.

Rhodes College has received another campus beauty designation. It is No. 30 on Architectural Digest’s list of “The 53 Prettiest College Campuses in America.” The magazine notes the college has a “beautiful wooded campus with uniformly Collegiate Gothic buildings made of Arkansas sandstone, Vermont slate, and Indiana limestone.”

ZIPS Car Wash held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration in recognition of its new location at 3294 Poplar Ave. It joined the Greater Memphis Chamber on Nov. 2 prior to opening for business. ZIPS presented a $500 donation to Alpha Omega Veterans Services, a nonprofit that provides displaced and homeless veterans with the social services needed to reintegrate into society. ZIPS later increased its Memphis presence with a second new location that also opened in November at 1565 North Germantown Parkway in Cordova.
