Here's a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:

Cumulus Media has appointed Andrew “Latty” Latimer as an on-air host for mornings for Memphis Country radio station KIX 106/WGKX-FM. Latimer, a native Memphian, graduated from Germantown High School and attended the University of Memphis before launching his radio career. He was previously morning host for Memphis Classic Hits station Q107.5/WHBQ-FM and also an on-air personality for Memphis radio stations I96/WIVG-FM (Rock) and 101.9 Kiss FM/KWNW-FM (Top 40). He debuted on his 6-10 a.m. weekday KIX 106 show May 31.

Agape Child & Family Services named Kari Ogle as the nonprofit’s new chief financial officer. She previously served as the organization's director of finance from 2004 to 2013 after which she moved to Oklahoma. Ogle has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Freed-Hardeman University.

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) announced Dr. Jeffrey Sawyer, a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Campbell Clinic, was named its 39th president of the organization. POSNA is a nonprofit organization that strives to advance pediatric orthopaedics via promoting education, research and quality care. Sawyer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric spine surgeon who has practiced for 21 years. He also is a board member of the Pediatric Spine Foundation and a member of the Scoliosis Research Society. He has authored more than 125 peer-reviewed publications, 30 book chapters, 200 national and international presentations. Sawyer graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and did his residency at the University of Pennsylvania before doing his Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic.

The Society of Entrepreneurs elected new members and officers to its board of directors. The new officers are President, Carolyn Hardy; President-Elect, Susan Stephenson; Secretary/Treasurer, Ron Coleman; and Membership Chairman, Bill Courtney. The new members of the board are David Andrews, Denise Stewart, Pat Lawler, Gary Dodson, Karen Blockman Carrier and Jeff Webb. The Society of Entrepreneurs was founded in 1991 to foster the development of the entrepreneurial spirit and to recognize the contribution of entrepreneurs to business and the community.

Lia Lansky, system director of wellbeing for Baptist Memorial Health Care, is one of six national experts chosen for the American College of Sports Medicine’s 2022–2024 Exercise is Medicine Emerging Leaders Program. The vision of EIM, a global health initiative managed by the ACSM, is to make the assessment and promotion of physical activity a standard in clinical care by connecting health care with evidence-based physical activity resources for people everywhere and of all abilities. At Baptist, Lansky oversees BestHealth by Baptist, an employer-based program launched five years ago, to give large and small self-insured employers an effective, cost-saving way to sustainably improve their employees’ overall health and reduce the cost of health insurance claims. Those selected to serve as EIM Emerging Leaders by the EIM governance board and EIM advisory panel will participate in a series of webinars on the Exercise is Medicine initiative; gather at the ACSM Annual Meeting/EIM World Congress; and learn about EIM strategic initiatives related to education, research, clinical integration, resource development, EIM On Campus and the EIM Global Network. EIM Emerging Leaders serve as spokespeople, provide presentations, disseminate information and assist in EIM projects and activities to expand the reach of the initiative nationally and globally. They will have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced clinicians and/or faculty leaders.

The board of trustees of Southern College of Optometry recently grew with the addition of Dr. Allan Barker, Dr. Charles Glaser and Dr. Charles W. Kinnaird. Since graduating from SCO in 1975, Barker has been heavily involved in various optometric studies and industry organizations. Practicing optometry in North Carolina, he is a member of the North Carolina Optometric Society, for which he served as president in 2009-10, and he was the state director of VOSH/International, also known as Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and former board president (2016-17) of its charity foundation. In 2019, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from SCO. Also an alumnus of SCO, Glaser earned his Doctor of Optometry in 1974 and then joined the ophthalmology department of the Ochsner Clinic in Louisiana, treating patients and teaching resident doctors about the theory and practice of contact lens fitting. In 1976, he opened St. Charles Vision’s first Boutte, Louisiana, office, where he was a managing partner and specialized in hard-to-fit contact lens patients and medical management of eye disease. Kinnaird has been on the staff of the Jesse Brown Department Of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago since completing his residency in 1995. He teaches the residents and students in both a clinical and didactic setting. Kinnaird is active in the National Board of Optometric Examiners, serving as a clinical skills examiner from 1999-2011 and now acting as a remote examiner for boards exams.

Memphis-based Redwood Services, a home services firm focused on investing in leading residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical services companies in growing U.S. markets, announced it has invested in Service Plus Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. Service Plus was founded in 2003 and has grown to become a leading provider of residential HVAC and plumbing services across the greater Indianapolis area with 80 employees serving 7,300 customers and 18 communities. As part of the investment, the 2003 original co-founders of Service Plus, Chris and Emily Cunningham, will retain a significant minority ownership stake and operate/manage under the Service Plus name.
