Here's a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:

Campbell Clinic recently added two physicians, Dr. Joseph Lamplot and Dr. Keith Orland, bringing the practice’s provider count to 87 across Tennessee and Mississippi. They are based out of Campbell Clinic’s Germantown campus.

  • Lamplot is relocating from Atlanta where he served as an orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center. His areas of specialty include shoulder, knee and elbow surgery. In addition, he has served as an assistant professor at Emory University. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Washington University.

  • Orland joins as a double fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with particular expertise in pediatric spine surgery. In addition to the broad scope of pediatric orthopaedics, his main passions are in caring for children with various spine-related conditions and in treating fractures in children. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his orthopaedic residency at Emory University School of Medicine.

Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston added three new associates to its team.

  • Bryant Carlton primarily represents clients in various areas of civil litigation. He also is involved in the firm's creditor’s rights and bankruptcy practice, representing clients in commercial and residential evictions, consumer repossessions, and foreclosure proceedings. Carlton received his juris doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi School. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Mississippi.

  • Prior to joining Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston, Emma C. Kent served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Bernice B. Donald at the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Kent received her juris doctorate from the University of Memphis, graduating magna cum laude.

  • Lee W. Wright was a legal extern at Orion Federal Credit Union and FedEx Logistics before joining Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Memphis with a specialization in business law with honors.

The Baptist Heart Institute at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis appointed Dr. Brian Bruckner and Dr. Sharon Larson as leaders of the heart transplant, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and ventricular assist device team. Baptist is the only provider for adult heart transplants in the Mid-South and serves the region with the only adult ECMO program.

  • Bruckner will serve as director of thoracic transplant and mechanical circulatory support for Baptist. He built the largest ventricular assist device and transplant program in the state of Texas during his time at Houston Methodist Hospital. Brucker earned his doctorate from the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Larson

  • As surgical director of cardiac transplant and mechanical circulatory support and ECMO, Larson will lead Baptist’s ECMO program as she did at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, where she was also the clinical assistant professor for the division of cardiothoracic surgery. Larson obtained her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif.

Bobby Garrett has been named dean of the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis, effective Aug. 1. Garrett is the Brown & Williamson Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Louisville, associate dean for Faculty Affairs and the director of the Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship. In his nine-plus years at Louisville, he grew rapidly through a series of constantly changing administrative roles. Included are Director, Ph.D. program in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (2019-21); department chair, Management & Entrepreneurship (2021-22); and interim associate dean for Graduate Programs (2022-present). Garrett earned his Ph.D. in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship from Indiana University and his Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University.
