Memphis women's basketball announces 2022-23 schedule

The University of Memphis women's basketball team announced its 2022-23 schedule Wednesday.

The Tigers, in their second season under coach Katrina Merriweather, open with an exhibition game against Rust College on Nov. 1, before beginning the regular season with a three-game homestand against Columbia (Nov. 7), Howard (Nov. 12) and Miami (Ohio) (Nov. 16).

The highlight of Memphis' non-conference schedule is a road game against defending national champion South Carolina on Dec. 3.

“We believe the first half of the schedule is what we need to prepare for a tough conference schedule,” Merriweather said in a press release. “It challenges us both at home and on the road and we look forward to being tested.”

The Tigers' first AAC game will be at Temple on Dec. 30 and their conference home opener is set for Jan. 3 at Elma Roane Fieldhouse against East Carolina.

Memphis finished last season 16-12 overall and 6-9 in AAC play.
