Menasha chooses lieutenant as next police chief
MENASHA - Menasha Police Lt. Nicholas Thorn has been named the department's new police chief, the Menasha Police Commission announced Friday.
Thorn joined the police department in 2009 as a patrol officer and was a patrol lieutenant before becoming investigative lieutenant in 2019.
He has a bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Metropolitan State University and is an adjunct instructor of criminal justice at Fox Valley Technical College.
Thorn will succeed Tim Styka as chief on Jan. 3. Styka announced his retirement in August.
