HOLLAND TWP. — A local frozen yogurt shop held its last day of business Sunday, June 11.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt announced on Monday, June 12, the store has permanently closed.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Menchie's Frozen Yogurt store in Holland,” the business wrote on social media. “We are writing this notification to express our deepest gratitude for your continuous support and loyalty over the past six years.

“We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the incredible memories and moments we have shared with you. It has been an absolute pleasure serving our community and being a part of your lives. We are grateful for your unwavering support, enthusiasm, and the smiles we've witnessed each time you walked through our doors.”

The shop opened in July 2017 in the Shops at Westshore. Owner Dena Crow told The Sentinel in 2018 the decision to open the shop was based on her family's love of desserts.

"As a whole, we love our ice cream and frozen yogurt treats. And we really liked the Menchie’s atmosphere and yogurt, so we decided it would be fun to own one and try something different.”

The post Monday thanks staff members “who have tirelessly worked to make Menchie's Frozen Yogurt a place of happiness and delight” and The Shops at Westshore for being the shop’s home.

Menchie’s was founded in California in 2007 and has more than 500 locations. There are 15 remaining locations in Michigan, according to the company’s website.
