The Mendel Center offers an eclectic instrumental music concert

BENTON HARBOR — Lake Michigan College’s department of visual and performing arts presents an instrumental music concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at The Mendel Center, 2755 E. Napier Ave.

The concert features performances by LMC's Rock/Pop Ensemble under the direction of Don Savoie, Tailwinds under the direction of Danny Lopez, Chamber String Ensemble under the direction of Jason Gresl, and Jazz Band under the direction of Robert Lunn.

The eclectic program includes such songs as Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely?”; Beethoven’s Allegro from Trio, Opus 87; César Avilés’ Andante; and Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan’s “Hoist That Rag.”

Admission is free. A suggested donation of $5 or a new, unwrapped toy will be collected at the door to benefit Toys for Tots.
