Rain washes out Sri Lanka ODI against Bangladesh

DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka (AP) — Rain forced match officials to abandon Sri Lanka's second one-day international against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

With the match being recorded as a 'no result', Bangladesh cannot now lose the three-match series after winning the opening international on Saturday by 90 runs. The final ODI will be played Saturday in Colombo.

Earlier, Kusal Mendis' maiden ODI century propelled Sri Lanka to 311 all out.

Medium-fast bowler Taskin Ahmed took a hat trick in the last over for Bangladesh to somewhat dent Sri Lanka's late assault.

Mendis made 102 runs off 107 deliveries, including a six and nine boundaries.
