Meneley, Avilla grab big bass title at Bass N Boats open

Ken Singletary and Steven Singletary had 10.85 pounds to win the Bass N Boats open tournament Jan. 15 on Lake Alfred. Sunai Rutledge and Jeff Rutledge took second place with 9.70 pounds. Wendy Norton and Barry Norton placed third with 8.15 pounds. Dustin Meneley and Arnold Avilla had big bass with a 5.70 pounder.

Carl Carmichael and Darryl Robey had 19.79 pounds to win the Polk County Bass Assassin’s open tournament Jan. 15 on the Winter Haven South Chain. Mark Robey and Mike Robey had 19.50 pounds and big bass with a 7.07 pounder to win second place. Terry Phillips and Aaron Phillips placed third with 18.42 pounds.

Dave Graham and Keith Butts had 20.75 pounds to win first place in the Kissimmee Bass Series Senior tournament on March 13 on the Kissimmee Chain. Wayne Yohn and Walter Owens were second with 20.22 pounds and also had big bass with a 7.53 pounder.

Gary Yearry and Chris Jones had 21.40 pounds and big bass with a 7.44 pounder to win first place in the Lake Wales Po Boys Bass Club open tournament Jan. 9 on the Winter Haven Chain. Cheryl Brewer and Kyle Brewer were second with 15.96 pounds. Joshua Whitchard and Jacob Schuh were third with 15.13 pounds.

The Xtreme Bass Series Central Florida Division tournament scheduled for Jan. 16 on the Winter Haven South Chain was postponed due to Sunday’s inclement weather.

The Happy Hookers Bass Club will host an Open Big Bass Tournament Jan. 22 at Lake Clinch out of the city ramp. The tourney is open to all anglers. Time is safe light to 12:30 p.m. Entry fee $30 per angler of which $15 goes to club and $15 towards first place only payout. The next Lake Wales Po Boys Bass Club tournament is Jan. 23 on Lake Kissimmee out of Grape Hammock Fish Camp.
