Mentor Public Library announces free computer classes in September

Sep. 9—Mentor Public Library announced it will be hosting six free computer classes in September at its Lake Branch, 5642 Andrews Road in Mentor-on-the-Lake.

The classes will be:

—Basic Computers — the library's most basic computer class — at 10 a.m. Sept. 20. People will learn the basic skills they need to use a computer. No previous experience required, according to a news release.

—Basic Email at 2 p.m. Sept. 20. Learn how to send emails and attachments, as well as reply to other people's emails.

—Microsoft Publisher at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Learn how to use Publisher to create flyers, cards and more. Basic computer skills required.

—Microsoft Word I at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27. Learn how to create, open and save documents, as well as other basic techniques, in Microsoft's word-processing software.

—Basic Internet at 2 p.m. Sept. 27. Learn how to navigate the Internet. Participants will need to know how to use a keyboard and a mouse for this class, the release stated.

—Facebook Basics at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27. The hands-on class will demonstrate basic Facebook features and tips. Participants are asked to come to class with their Facebook login information and password.

All of the classes are free. However, registration is required and opens two weeks before the

The library also offers several online computer classes through the LinkedIn Learning database.
