Mentor Public Library offering online talk with author John Irving

Oct. 5—Mentor Public Library is offering a free online talk with bestselling and award-winning author John Irving at 7 p.m. Oct. 26.

Irving is one of the most famous living authors in North America. He's been nominated for the National Book Award three times, winning in 1980 for "The World According to Garp." He also won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for "The Cider House Rules."

He'll discuss a lifetime of writing during this intimate conversation, as well as his most recent

novel, "The Last Chairlift," according to a news release.
