Mentor Public Library teaming with local chef to offer cooking classes

Dec. 19—For those wanting to learn a skill or pick up new recipes, Mentor Public Library is teaming with local chef LaDonna Oltmanns for cooking classes for both adults and kids this January.

Oltmanns is the head chef for Nourish Café in the Pop Life building in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood. She specializes in plant-based dishes, according to a news release.

She'll host a cooking class for kids at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3, in the library's Headlands Branch, 4669 Corduroy Road. Children ages 8 and older can have fun while learning how to prepare food on their own.

Then, Oltmanns will lead a cooking class for teens and adults at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4, in the Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave. She'll demonstrate how to make Cajun pasta.

Finally, Oltmanns will teach how to use an air fryer at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 18 also at the Main Branch. She'll demonstrate both its ease and versatility while preparing appetizers, dinner,

sides and desserts, the release stated.

All of these programs are free to attend, but due to limited space, registration is required. Sign up at www.mentorpl.org or call the library at 440-255-8811. Registration opens two weeks before the program occurs, the release stated.
