On the Menu: The latest on Hank's Pizza Mac, Butch's deli, Chicken Salad Chick

Swing-In Pizza officially became Hank's Pizza Mac on Jan. 14 and updated its menu. Customers still can order pizza and stromboli sandwiches, including the popular original strom made with sausage, onions, mozzarella and pizza sauce, with a side of sweet pickles, and the barbecue strom.

General manager Nasya Armes said the supreme pizza, another favorite, remains the same. However, the sizes of pizzas have changed. New sizes are small (for 1-2 people), medium (10-inch, 2-3 people) and large (14-inch, 3-5 people).

New to the menu are mac bowls, which all have a base of mac and cheese. Specialty bowls are chicken bacon ranch; Throwback mac, with sliced hot dogs; Polynesian mac, with chicken, jalapenos and a drizzle of sweet Thai sauce; Southwest mac, with white cheddar cheese, pulled pork, pico de gallo, sour cream and taco seasoning; and Memphis mac, with pulled pork, chicken or brisket added to red onion and barbecue sauce.

Tot bowls, each beginning with crispy tater tots, include Kitchen Sink Tots, with nacho cheese, pulled pork, sour cream, bacon, jalapenos and black olives; Blazin Buffalo Tots, with chicken, red onion, mozzarella, ranch drizzle and buffalo sauce drizzle; and Loaded Tot Bowl, with shredded cheddar cheese, bacon and sour cream.

Hank's Pizza Mac is open for lunch and dinner for dine-in, delivery and carry-out. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Butch's Grillacatessen and Eateria is back

Butch's Grillacatessen and Eateria has reopened with a new menu at 120 E. Seventh St. Favorites including pizza by the slice and the Chicken Godfather Sub are still available, but the formerly six-page menu is slightly condensed. Specialty pizzas, including Butch's special with pepperoni, sausage, meatball, peppers and onions, are still available as are calzones and Mexican pies, including a vegetarian Latina with poblano peppers, beans, mozzarella and avocado. Wings, both bone-in and boneless; gyros; Philly sandwiches; soups; hot subs; and deli sandwiches are available, as are burgers, wraps and grilled chicken sandwiches.

Besides menu changes, hours have changed. Butch's is now open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

Chicken Salad Chick to open next month

Chicken Salad Chick, offering 12 types of chicken salad made with shredded chicken, will open a Bloomington restaurant in mid-February in the former Burgers, Wings & Things location at 115 Ind. 46 Bypass. Customers can choose chicken salad in scoops or sandwiches as well as pimento cheese, egg salad and sides including soups, pasta salad and broccoli salad. Hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Italian wine dinner at Truffles

Truffles Restaurant, 1131 S. College Mall Road, will host a five-course Italian wine dinner on Feb. 8. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $95 per person and includes tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 812-330-1111.

The dinner will begin with grilled octopus served with pickled fennel, fried sweet peppers topped with red wine vinaigrette and micro herbs, followed by crispy skin duck breast in a marsala and wild mushroom sauce served with broccoli rabe with lemon and walnuts. Third course will be Italian rice balls stuffed with house-made Italian sausage and mozzarella, served with sundried tomato marinara and a Parmesan crisp.

Rosemary and garlic marinated leg of lamb roast with Italian salsa verde and Gorgonzola and pine nut polenta will be next, followed by a dessert of Chianti poached pear with mascarpone mousse and raspberry biscotti.
