On the Menu: Missing Sofra Cafe's pastries? Find them at the Bloomington winter farmers' market

Editor's note: This story has been updated to correct the number of Chipotle restaurants in Bloomington.

Although Sofra Cafe restaurant closed in September, many of the pastries and breads from the restaurant are available at Sofra Bakery, which has a booth at the Saturday Bloomington Winter Farmers' Market in the Switchyard Park pavilion, 1601 S. Rogers St.

Owners Mehmet and Naciye Akgun are happy when they sell out of their most popular items, which include borek (spinach and feta filled handmade pastry), baklava and pogaca (soft yeast dough filled with feta or potato) as well as lentil patties.

The winter market is open 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. but go early to make sure your favorites are still available.

Reuben now a permanent item at Chefs Table Catering

Chefs Table Catering has made the reuben a permanent item on its menu. The westside restaurant has daily specials as well as everyday offerings.

Culver's adds frozen cocoa shake to the menu

Last holiday season, Culver’s added a signature twist on hot cocoa by introducing the frozen Cocoa Concrete Mixer. This year, Culver's is not only bringing back the fan-favorite mixer, it’s adding a frozen cocoa shake. Both are available now through Feb. 4.

The treats combine vanilla frozen custard and hot cocoa mix, topped with whipped cream — one as a thick mix and the other as a drinkable shake. Bloomington's Culver's is at 1918 W. Third St.

Bloomington's new westside Chipotle is now open

The third Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant in Bloomington opened on Monday.

It's the first location in town to have what the company calls its Chipotlane, a drive-through where customers can pick up their digital orders without leaving their vehicles.

Hours will be 10:45 a.m.-10 p.m. daily at the 3151 W. Third St. location.
