Meow Wolf, Taos, Carlsbad Caverns ranked "best things to do this summer"
May 30—Taos, Meow Wolf and Carlsbad Caverns National Park are among the "150 Best Things to Do in the USA This Summer", as compiled by the 5-year-old online travel guide Travel Lemming.
"From outdoor adventures with my grandfather on Elephant Butte Reservoir to weekends exploring the art and culture of Santa Fe, every visit to New Mexico has led me to discover an entirely new side of this fantastically multi-faceted state," Travel Lemming CEO Nate Hake wrote in an email about the state's entries.
In the guide's list, Hake noted about Meow Wolf: "The immersive installations will transport you to an otherworldly fantasy realm, and perhaps leave you scratching your head and wondering what you just saw."
Taos was ranked No. 4 as "Experience the Soul of the Southwest in Taos, New Mexico." Travel Lemming ranked Meow Wolf No. 30 and Carlsbad Caverns No. 52.
Travel Lemming's conceit is to encourage travelers "to think beyond those over-done, over-touristed destinations." It claims to have more than a half-million monthly readers.
