"All right. So let me play devil's advocate a little bit. What happens when these charging stations and the charging hubs are occupied?"

[Markus Schäfer, Chief Technology Officer, Mercedes-Benz]

"Well, that's another real-life problem that people experience today. So you're arriving at the charging station and what the charging stations occupied. So what's the solution for Mercedes-Benz? You can make a reservation as a Mercedes customer just put in your destination in the system and your system recalculates your charging stops. And you can make a reservation at this charging stop. So if the system knows you're arriving in San Francisco at 4 o'clock, just make a reservation for your charging spot. And even if you are delayed due to traffic, the schedule is adjusted. So that's really, really a benefit for Mercedes-Benz customers being able to make a reservation at our network."

Mercedes-Benz is poised to invest billions of dollars

to build 10,000 charging points in North America, Europe and China by 2030
