The report cites a statement made by MB RUS, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Russia. According to company, access to online software used for car maintenance services has been halted.

MB RUS stated that repair and maintenance of vehicles will now be conducted based on locally "accumulated experience and expertise."

“Dealers are disconnected from the manufacture’s online software systems,” MB RUS told Izvestia.

“In some cases, the lack of access to online systems will result in extended repair times.”

The Association of Russian Automobile Dealers announced that official dealers are experiencing problems with the software for most foreign brands, but did not provide specific names.

“This concerns not only Mercedes, but also BMW; it is clear that now dealers are making all-out efforts to fulfill warranty obligations to car owners,” the report reads.

“Restrictions are being circumvented with the help of third-party software and parts sold on marketplaces. The term ‘official dealer’ loses its significance, essentially.”
