Mercedes Moné captured the IWGP Women's Championship in January at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 17 and has promised to shine a greater spotlight on the company's new women's division.

Well, the title, which has only been in existence for six months, has been given its biggest spotlight yet: Moné brought the Championship belt as her red-carpet accessory to the premiere of The Mandalorian season three.

Moné posed on the red carpet with the belt, even engaging in a friendly tug-of-war with actress Rosario Dawson. Moné played Koska Reeves in season two of the Star Wars series, while Dawson plays Ahsoka Tano.

Dawson is no stranger to pro wrestling, having previously been seen front row at AEW Dynamite in September 2021, when she was a judge on TBS' Go-Big Show alongside Cody Rhodes.

Meanwhile, Moné recently stated that her character wouldn't be appearing in season three of The Mandalorian.

Speaking to TV Insider last month, Moné said: "I can't believe I'm in two of the greatest universes ever. [The] wrestling universe and [the] Star Wars universe have the craziest and best fans of all time.

"It's still surreal. The next season I can't wait to watch as a fan."

Moné made the jump to NJPW after spending a decade as Sasha Banks in WWE.

Speaking in a documentary about her NJPW debut, Moné explained the differences between Sasha and who she is now.

"I'm evolving from a boss to a legit CEO, which is what I am in real life," she said. "I am the president of my own estate, and I am so f**king excited to begin this next chapter and this next character and this next journey."

The Mandalorian seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Disney+, where season 3 premieres on March 1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
