Mercedes Moné, the former Sasha Banks, has released a mini-documentary, showing her journey to New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Uploaded to her Mercedes Varnado YouTube channel, the video titled 'Mercedes Monè embarks on her next chapter at Wrestle Kingdom' shows the wrestler in the 24 hours before her debut for NJPW and immediately after.

In the video, Mercedes discusses her nerves as she prepares for the big moment. "I’ve never been this excited in so long. It’s the craziest nerves ever," Mercedes says.

"New Japan just keeps saying, 'But you were in WWE, you got this'. Like, no, it’s different, it’s so different, it’s so f**king different. I know I shouldn’t be nervous, but it’s so different. And I want to make it different, that’s why it’s different for me."

Mercedes also reveals she received a text from Triple H the night before, as well as one from William Regal.

Speaking about the next chapter in her career, Mercedes says: "This whole time since I’ve been gone from the WWE, I’ve been really struggling of what’s next, what am I going to do in wrestling, who am I?

"I’ve been a character for like 10 years in that company, so it felt like such a death and it’s just been such a long journey trying to figure out who I am after the WWE, and now it’s finally coming together."

Mercedes describes the character of Sasha Banks as "everything I wanted to be as a kid", while Mercedes Moné is "everything who I am now."

"I’m evolving from a boss to a legit CEO, which is what I am in real life," she adds. "I am the president of my own estate, and I am so f**king excited to begin this next chapter and this next character and this next journey."

In the video, Mercedes is also reunited with WWE's Naomi, who travelled to Tokyo to support her friend. Last May, Moné and Naomi walked out of a live Raw taping while they were the WWE Women's Tag Team champions. Naomi is yet to return to wrestling.

At Battle In The Valley on Saturday (February 18), Mercedes defeated KAIRI to become IWGP Women’s Champion, in her first match for NJPW. Following her win, Mercedes tweeted: "Who’s next? Lines starts down here #GlobalTour #TheCEO."
