This new Meridian Mall business will offer vitamin injections and health consultations
OKEMOS — People associate buying clothes or food with Meridian Mall, but a vitamin injection?
Soon people can get those, too.
The preventative health and wellness business, The B-12 Store, plans to host a grand opening this weekend, said owner Diane Pearl of Liberty Township.
“I am super excited,” she said. “I can’t wait to get started.”
The B-12 Store is a full-service injectable vitamin store. In addition to vitamin injections, it offers consultations and oral vitamins to help people boost their energy, immunity and weight loss, Pearl said.
“And just giving people a general feeling of health wellness,” Pearl said.
Some of the vitamins available include B-12, C, D-3 and B-7, as well as minerals such as magnesium. The Meridian Mall store will join other Michigan locations in Saginaw, Novi and Ann Arbor, according to the company's website.
Pearl started the process of opening a store last summer, trying to find the appropriate location and learning the ins and outs. By trade, she is a family nurse practitioner; she worked for several years in a family practice clinic and her entire adult life has been about health and wellness, she said.
Everyone she’s hired for the Meridian Mall store has 10-plus years of experience in the health care field, so she’s confident it will be a smooth transition for them, Pearl said.
“There will always be somebody licensed on staff,” she said.
Through her new store and injectable vitamins, she hopes to help people with their sleep, energy levels, menstrual cramps and aging — as well as helping them feel better in general.

When it comes to taking vitamins, she said, a low percentage of a vitamin is generally absorbed by the body when taken orally, while an injection into the muscle results in a much higher percentage absorption.
People don’t need a doctor’s appointment to visit to The B-12 Store. There is a questionnaire visitors fill out to make sure they're an appropriate candidate for injections. Depending on the injection, “everyone can benefit from vitamins,” she said.
Pearl said the site near GameStop has undergone cosmetic renovations, including new floors, fresh wall paint and adding private rooms so patients feel comfortable. She wants people to have a serene, relaxing environment, she said.
“We want to take every opportunity to help you strive to be the best 'you' you can be,” Pearl said.
Meridian Mall General Manager Dan Irvin said the mall has a vetting process to bring in credible, quality tenants and The B-12 Store is one of a couple new tenants that has come to the mall, thanks to leasing manager Shawn Dunham.
He said The B-12 Store is a "cool" concept and the first of its kind for the mall. The former GNC closed, and the mall has had nothing similar in personal health care.
He thinks when people understand the health benefits and take the time to meet The B-12 Store staff, the store will be well-received.
“This is going to be a great addition,” Irvin said.
