Merkel meets Macron ahead of EU summit

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met in Toulouse on Wednesday (October 16), ahead of a summit with other EU leaders later this week.

The pair visited an Airbus A350 factory and training center in the southern French city, accompanied by some of their ministers and Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury.

They visited the Airplane Campus, where an A350 model is being used to train workers and apprentices that could potentially be hired by Airbus.

After the factory, Macron and Merkel traveled to the Toulouse prefecture where they held a Franco-German cabinet meeting where - among other issues - they're expected to discuss possible EU membership talks with North Macedonia.
