Mesa County commissioners meet on courtroom expansion

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Mesa County’s Justice Center is in for a major expansion.

The county plans to build two new courtrooms. One will replace the current probation office.

William J. Sightler, III, the court executive for the 21st Judicial District says construction on the new courtroom is expected to begin January 2025 with the courtroom becoming operational June 2025.

The current probation office will be moved to the central services building. Construction on that is expected to be completed in September 2024.
