Inter Miami had all its marquee players in the starting lineup against Nashville SC for Wednesday night’s second and deciding leg of the Champions Cup Round of 16.

Lionel Messi, who rested and sat out Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Montreal, started against Nashville, as did Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Suarez and Busquets spent the first half against Montreal on the bench and entered the game in the 67th minute.

The rest of Miami’s starters Wednesday: Goalkeeper Drake Callender, defender Tomas Aviles, defender Nico Freire, defender Sergiy Kryvtsov, midfielder Diego Gomez, midfielder Julian Gressel, midfielder Federico Redondo.

The bench: Carlos Dos Santos, Cole Jensen, Leo Campana, Ryan Sailor, Robert Taylor, Noah Allen, David Ruiz, Lawson Sunderland, Shanyder Borgelin.

Miami and Nashville are tied on aggregate after the first leg of the series, but Miami holds the edge because the first tiebreaker is away goals. Messi and his teammates will advance to the quarterfinals of the $5 million tournament with a win, a 0-0 tie, or a 1-1 tie on Wednesday.

If Wednesday’s game is 2-2 at the end of regulation, it will go to extra time and then penalty kicks. The last time these two teams went to PKs, in the Leagues Cup final last August, it went 10 rounds before Miami clinched it.

The winner between Miami and Nashville plays the winner of FC Cincinnati vs Monterrey, the Mexican team that won the first leg 1-0.
