Lionel Messi, wearing pink shorts and with his wife and three young sons in tow, disembarked from a private jet at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport Tuesday afternoon after a Caribbean vacation. The airport is directly across the street from the Inter Miami training facility and DRV PNK Stadium, where the next chapter of his storied career is about to begin.

Inter Miami fans will soon get to see the Argentine star in person. Season ticket holders will receive free admission to attend Sunday night’s welcome ceremony for Messi, Sergio Busquets, and maybe Jordi Alba (his wife is expecting a baby any day).

Being dubbed “The Unveil,” the presentation of the three new players will include on-field speeches and entertainment. Doors open at 6 p.m. at DRV PNK Stadium. Messi and Busquets, who played together at FC Barcelona, are expected to debut July 21 in the Leagues Cup opener against Mexican team Cruz Azul at DRV PNK Stadium. Alba’s availability depends when his new baby arrives.

Sign up and ticket access information for “The Unveil” was e-mailed directly to season ticket holders on Tuesday morning. They must fill out a form to redeem their seats. The deadline is Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. Additional event details will be available in the coming days.

Limited tickets may become available for purchase at a later date. Sign up here to receive more information on how to watch

The event is expected to be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. According to multiple sources, the club and MLS are also in talks with Fox and Univision about airing a part of the ceremony during halftime of the Gold Cup final, which is being held at the same time at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The game is between the winners of Wednesday’s semifinals: USA vs Panama and Mexico vs Jamaica.

Meanwhile, bleachers were added to the Southeast and Northeast corners of DRV PNK Stadium to accommodate the extra demand for upcoming games. Tickets there are $200 for Inter Miami v Cruz Azul July 21 and $145 for the second Leagues Cup game July 25 between Inter Miami and Atlanta United. Check Ticketmaster for availability.

Pizarro update

Mexican midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro, who is expected to be traded or bought out to free a Designated Player spot for Messi or Busquets, was at practice on Tuesday and might remain on the roster through Saturday’s game. The two likeliest landing spots are Los Angeles Galaxy, which needs help and has a large Mexican fan base, and Greek club AEK Atenas, where he would reunited with his former Chivas coach Matias Almeyda.

Stefanelli questionable, Miller probable

Midfielder Nico Stefanelli, who sprained his ankle during the 2-2 tie against D.C. United, is being evaluated and his status for Saturday’s game is unknown. He did not practice on Tuesday. Defender Kamal Miller, who missed the past four games while on Gold Cup duty with the Canadian national team, returns to camp this week and is likely to play Saturday.

“This week Miller comes back, next week (DeAndre) Yedlin will be back with us (from Gold Cup), and we are awaiting to see the recoveries of Gregore, (Jean) Mota, Robbie (Robinson). All of that is important for us when the roster has been so depleted,” said coach Tata Martino, who will be coaching his first Inter Miami game on Saturday.

New sleeve sponsor

Inter Miami also announced a major, multi-year partnership with international freight forwarder and logistics service provider Fracht Group, making it the first global partner of the club’s new era. Fracht Group now becomes the team’s official and exclusive right jersey sleeve partner of Inter Miami CF.

Beginning with the road game Saturday against St. Louis City SC, the Fracht Group logo will be displayed on the right sleeve of all Inter Miami jerseys. The freight forwarder will be featured prominently on signage at DRV PNK Stadium and throughout the Club’s digital platforms.

“We are excited to announce Fracht Group as our first major partnership of this new era. Inter Miami is making history as we enter an unprecedented period of growth, and we’re very happy to welcome the Fracht Group as a main partner for it all,” said Xavier Asensi, Inter Miami chief business officer.
